Troy L. (Bud) Copeland, 56, of Route 1, Liberty Hill, lifetime resident of Williamson County, died in a Georgetown Hospital Thursday afternoon December 8, at 2 o'clock. Mr. Copeland had been in ill health for several years but seriously ill for fifteen months, in and out of the hospital.

Funeral services were held in the Davis Funeral Chapel in Georgetown, Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Minister Joe Davis of the Liberty Hill Church of Christ and Minister Cecil Alexander of the Georgetown Church of Christ.

Those furnishing songs were L. G. Glover, Sr. and J.D.Thomas, Jr. of Georgetown, Mr. and Mrs. Founty Davis, Mrs. Carol Davis and Stewart Pogue, Jr. of Liberty Hill.

Pallbearers were Bob Allen, Lois Giddens, Lefty Williams, Pryor Holder, Stanley Ringstaff, and W.K. Seward.

Burial was in the Liberty Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Copeland, son of Mrs. Lena Whitehead Copeland, of Bertram and the late Marshall Copeland, was born in Liberty Hill, Williamson County on November 19, 1910. He became a Christian early in life and united with the Church of Christ of Liberty Hill.

He was married to Miss Ella Mae Knox at Bertram on April 11, 1940 and to this union, five children were born, who survive.

Mr. Copeland was employed at Leander Limestone and San-Tex Company of Liberty Hill for a number of years.

He was a man of fine Christian character and was held in high esteem by all who knew him.

Survivors include his wife, his mother; three sons, Lucky L. Copeland of Georgetown, Weldon Copeland of Fort Hood, and Bill Copeland of Liberty Hill; two daughters, Mrs. Stella Lee Ball of Austin and Miss Wilma Mae Copeland of Liberty Hill.

Also two grandchildren James and Regina Ball; five brothers, Ollie Copeland and Ray Copeland of Bertram, Jack Copeland of Liberty Hill, Clyde Copeland of Austin, and Wesley Copeland of Coatesville, Pennsylvania; four sisters, Mrs. Nello Kirk of Georgetown, Mrs. Mattie Lee Amidon of Leander, Mrs. Ida Amidon of Austin, and Mrs. Ruby Taylor of Bertram and a number of other relatives and friends.
