Mr. Ted Cook, age 75, of Oglesby, died on Monday, July 11, 2005, at his residence.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 15, at the Gatesville Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Aaron Tyler officiating. Burial was in Turnersville Cemetery.
Mr. Cook was born on September 4, 1929, in the Pancake community of Coryell County. He was the son of the late Melvin (Bud) and Dorothy Hawkins Cook. He grew up in Turnersville and went to school there, graduating from Gatesville High School in 1947. He married Joan Lamb in 1953. They resided in Temple and Irving most of their married life, retiring to Oglesby. She preceded him in death in 1994. He then married Freda Martin in 1995. He was an accountant for TXU for 38 years, retiring in 1991. He was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church of Oglesby.
He is survived by is wife, Freda Cook of Oglesby; sons, Mark Cook and wife Donna of Fort Worth, David Cook and wife Sharon of Columbus, Ohio, and Ed Cook and wife Lisa of Chicago, Illinois; daughters, Paula Martin of Austin, Susan Saunders and husband Jim of Gatesville, and Laurie Morse and husband Jack of Oglesby; sister, Martha Ann Horton of Bertram; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.



Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Oglesby.
