On Saturday July 6, 2013 Homer William Boyer, 87 went to be with his wife of 66 years, Mary F. Boyer, deceased April 15, 2013. "She is the love of my life and the most beautiful woman I've ever seen."He was born on April 7, 1926 in Blevins, Missouri, but soon became a resident of Oklahoma. He was an Army Veteran injured in the Philippines in 1945. His occupation throughout his life was mechanic; however he worked at the Darlington Game Farm, managed the Yukon Bowling Alley, worked in the oil field in the early 1980s, and even though he retired and moved to Lake Eufaula to fish, he worked maintenance and courier for the First National Bank of McAlester. He was a founding member of the Mustang Church of Christ until retirement when he became a member of the Savanna Church of Christ. He loved God, his wife and family, singing gospel music, living and fishing on the lake, and life in general. He could always be found by listening for him whistling a song. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents: John & Cynthia Boyer, brothers: Floyd, Lawrence, Jesse, Harry, Noel, and Carl, and two granddaughters, Rebecca & Sarah Fackler. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday July 13, 2013 in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Howard Miller of Elm Street Church of Christ will officiate. Interment with Military Honors will be in the El Reno Cemetery.
