Bill Thomas was born on December 26, 1947, in Waynesboro, Georgia, to the late Fred and Martha Thomas.
In 1954, his family moved to Florida where he later graduated from Dillard High School. Shortly after graduation, he was drafted by the United States Army where he quickly moved up in ranks to become a Sergeant.
After serving his time in the Army, he began to work for Gunther Mazda for more than 20 years, as one of the top mechanics.
It was during this time that he married Juanita Thomas until he was called home on June 13, 2013, to be with his heavenly father.
