The funeral service for longtime certified nurse's assistant Joanie Clayton of Paris will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at McEvoy Funeral Home.

Michael Key will officiate. Burial will be in Bevil Cemetery.

Selected as pallbearers are Cody Tate, Jeremiah Clayton, Chris Judd, James and Johnny Taylor and Bobby and Jamie Coe.

Honorary pallbearers will be Kamron Howard, Xaviar Howard and staff members at Paris Healthcare Center.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Saturday.

Clayton, 56, died Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. The cause of death was not given.

She was married on June 23, 1978, to Gerald Clayton, who survives.

Born Oct. 25, 1956, in Henry County, she was a daughter of the late Sylvester Luther Coe and Evelyn Marie Choate Coe.

She was a certified nurse's assistant for 35 years. A family member said she loved to bake, shop, camp and loved her grandchildren.

She also leaves one daughter: Angela Joan Tate of Paris; one sister: Joyce Marie Morrison of Murray; one brother: Jackie Coe; one sister-in-law: Donna (Tommy) Judd of Paris; one brother-in-law: Tommy Clayton of Paris; four grandchildren: Allison Nicole Tate, Cody Tate, Kamron Howard and Xaviar Howard; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She also was preceded in death by a son in infancy; a sister: Linda Taylor; and a brother: Johnny Luther Coe in 2006.
