Son of Eric Benton and Tracy Greene, Aaron was a sixth grade student and an avid NASCAR fan. Aaron's dream was to attend a NASCAR Nextel Cup event and to meet his hero, Dale Earnhardt Jr. Thanks to the donations and support of the community, Aaron was able to attend the event at the Michigan International Speedway in June of 2005. He received autographs from many Cup drivers but Earnhardt himself was ill and was unable to meet Aaron.
Aaron survived a brain tumor when he was six years old but doctors discovered a tumor wrapped around his brain stem in May, 2005 and this tumor took his life.
Those who knew Aaron all spoke of his wonderful, loving spirit.
