Predeced by his parents S.L. Nabors and Mary Dutton Nabors. Born in Greenwood, S.C. He attended Greenwood High School. He worked in textiles. After a short illness of pneumonia, Mr. Nabors contracted ARDS(Adult Respiratory Distress Syndrome) Some people can recover from ARDS while others can't. We were told to keep a journal for him while he was in ICU, and CCU, so that he could know what had went on during this stay.
I kept a journal for him for 31 days while he lay there. I wrote everytime they did a procedure, when they shaved his beard off, and even pulled a tooth. He never got to read this journal. I think he would have gotten a kick out of it.
He had one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Dutton Carrouth, her husband Jimmy, and a brother Johnny Ray Nabors and his wife Ann Nabors. And niece Donna Whatley, nephews Tony Smith and Terry Smith, and Brandon Nabors. great nieces and nephew, Tasha Whatley, Samantha Whatley Morgan Smith, Caleb Smith, and Joshua Smith, and David Smith. And two great great nephews Lil David and Dexter Hall. (Morgan's children).
