Donald E. Boynton, 81, of New Britain, passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2012 at UConn Medical Center in Farmington. He was born in Hanover, NH on January 4, 1931 to Faye Baker Boynton and Earle Boynton. He grew up in South Pomfret, Vermont and graduated from Woodstock High School and Castleton College. He worked in the restaurant business and relocated to Connecticut where he waited tables and was a Maitre D' in several area restaurants throughout his career. He was a United States Army veteran, and served in the Korean War. Most recently Don worked as a Walmart greeter in Hartford. He was a kind and generous man who loved his family. He enjoyed a good laugh and found much joy in life. He is predeceased by his parents, his two sisters Myrris Baldwin of CT and Shirley Marcotte of MA, nephews Clifford Baldwin of Indiana, and Christopher Marcotte of MA, great-nephew Nathan Arnold, and great-niece Rebecca Wallace, both of MA. He will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews: Gregory Marcotte, Amy Marcotte Albano, Laurel Marcotte Wallace, Thomas Marcotte, Melanie Marcotte Feinberg, Michael Marcotte, James Marcotte, all of MA, and Daniel Marcotte of WA.; Pamela Baldwin Boker of Illinois, Donald Baldwin and Brian Baldwin of Indiana, their families, and his companion and roommate Ricardo Wint. Graveside funeral services with full military honors will be held on Saturday (June 30) at 11 am at the Southwick Cemetery in Southwick, MA.
