Ann Elizabeth Maguire died on July 5, 2013. She was born on Oct. 6, 1922, in Burleson, the daughter of John Milton Roddy and Lorena Elizabeth Gordon Roddy. She graduated in 1939 from Denison High School, Denison, and attended Texas Woman's University and The University of North Texas at Denton for three and a half years. After leaving college, she became a newspaper reporter for the Denison Herald.

In 1943 she married A. Eugene Quint, a career Air Force pilot. The family lived in many different states and spent several years in Germany and Greece. After his retirement in 1963 they moved from Minneapolis, Minn., to Rogers, Ark., where he became an executive with the Walmart Corporation. He died there in 1982. In Rogers, Ark., Ann was employed by First Federal Savings and Loan as Assistant Operations Officer.

She married Bill Smith of Rogers in 1985, but he died six months later.

In 1986 she married Jack Maguire of Fredericksburg. They were old friends, having known each other years earlier in Denison, where they both graduated from high school and in Denton, where they both attended The University of North Texas for two years before Jack transferred to UT Austin. Forty-five years later, after both had lost their spouses, they were reunited, and were married a month later. After their marriage, she worked with Mr. Maguire as editor of his newspaper column, magazine articles and books. He died August 27, 2000.

She was a member of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church.

She is survived by four daughters, Sharon Quint and her husband Kerry of Bentonville, Ark.; Genie Ostle of Southport, N.C.; Kristy Hovde and her husband Herb of Lakeville, Minn.; and Patty Jones of Fredericksburg; two stepsons, Jack Maguire Jr., of San Antonio; and Kevin Maguire of Austin; a brother, Wesley Roddy of Hale Center; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Eloise McCray; son in law, Michael F. Jones.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Barnabas Episcopal Church Outreach Fund, the Needs Council, the Hill Country Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, PAWS, or the .

Services will be held at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, with interment in the churchyard columbarium.
