Mary Elizabeth Preston was born in Hand County near Rockham, South Dakota on April 18, 1916 to Willis and Florence Farries Preston. She married Orville F. Anderson on December 12, 1939 in Redfield, South Dakota. They farmed in the Frankfort area for over 24 years until 1964 and then purchased a farm near Clark. She was the mother of four children, eleven grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, & one great-great-grandchild. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband Orville, a daughter-in-law Agnes Anderson, two brothers, one sister and two great-grandsons.

NOTE: South Dakota birth records show that she was born in Hand County. Obit states she was born in Rockham which is located in Faulk County near the Hand County line.
