Linda Lou Skinner Bruner of Okeechobee passed away July 8, 2013. She was born September 17, 1944 in Miami, FL to James and Lois Skinner. She worked for the Palm Beach Post for 20 years. She came to Okeechobee from West Palm Beach in the early 1990s.

She was of the Christian faith and loved to camp, fish, care for her dogs and cook.

Mrs. Bruner was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Jimmie O. Bruner; granddaughter, Stephanie J. Bruner; and brother, Micheal J. Skinner.

She is survived by three daughters, Sandy Maxwell of West Palm Beach, Sherry Floyd (Paul Atkinson) of Indiantown and Donna Holder of Trenton; three sons, John Monroe Floyd (Jamie Lynn Hall), Steve O. (Cathy) Bruner and James (Pam) Bruner all of Okeechobee; and many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 12, 2013 at Callaway Cemetery in Panama City.

Memorial contributions may be made to National Kidney Foundation, Finance Department, 30 East 33rd St., New York, NY 10016 or the Okeechobee Humane Society.
