Jo was born March 25, 1952, in Peoria to C. Earl and Audrey M. (Potter) Duncan. She attended Woodruff High School, graduating in 1971.
After traveling, she settled in Colorado Springs, Colo., where she was a student of the CS Deaf & Blind School. She managed several Texaco stations in the area.
Joann and Paul D. Golden were married on Aug. 19, 1995. They lived a very happy life together until his passing.
She moved back to Illinois to be near family.
She was a member of Boyd's Grove United Methodist Church, and was an active member and volunteer until her health no longer permitted.
She is survived by her mother, Audrey Denholm; two sisters, Sandy (Kevin) Stewart of Mesa, Ariz., and Shirley Feurer of Lynnwood, Wash.; nieces, Jennifer (Roger) Tucker of Henry, Tess Prange of Bellvue, Neb., and Mariah (Peter) Calkins of Mountlake Terrace, Wash.; two stepdaughters, Shannon and Allison; and granddaughter Aurora. Also surviving is Keri Meyers, her friend and caregiver.
Graveside services for the family will be in Avon, Ill.
