A Macon native, Ms. Griffin passed away Sunday, June 30, 2013. She was the daughter of the late Johnnie Griffin and Elnora Walton Griffin.
She was a graduate of Ballard Hudson High School and attended Albany State College, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree. She worked for Bernd Elementary School as a third grade teacher until her retirement in 1978.
Ms. Griffin was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. Johnnie Mae was a person who loved people. She was most noted for her compassion, her smile and was extremely friendly to everyone she met.
Burial in Middle Georgia Memory Gardens.
