HOWELL COUNTY BOY IS KILLED Two Companions Escape Injury When Their Machine Demolished in Crash............
Ray Brower, 17 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Ewing Brower of Olden, Mo, was fatally injured at 10 o'clock this morning on highway 63 near Olden when a Ford touring car in which he was riding collided with a machine driven by W. F. Hopkins, a salesman who lives in Doniphan, Mo.
Everett Turner,21 and Howard Winters, 16,. two other Olden youths, who were also occupants of the Ford Car escaped uninjuried as did Hopkins. An examination by an Olden physician revealed that young Brower's lungs and stomach were crushed.
The wreck, according to the Turner youth, occurred when the salesman's machine drove into highway 63 from a side road that leads to Olden, Mo., and blocked the path of the Ford car which was driving in the direction of Olden. The body is being held by an Olden undertaker pending a statement from the coroner. Olden is In Howell county about 8 miles north of West Plains.
