Rites planned for Physician:

Funeral services for Dr. M.C. Sheppard, who died in his office yesterday, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the First Methodist Church, the Rev. Philllip Walker officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Dr. Sheppard, 72, was born in Pine Forest. I898, he married Miss Etta Esther Hayden in Hopkins County. He belonged to the American Association and the Denton County Medical Association. He had practiced medicine in the county since 1913.
Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral home is directing the service.

Heart Attack in Office Fatal to Dr. Sheppard:

Dr. M.C. Sheppard, about 73, long-time Denton County physician, died in his office in the McCrary, Building about 10:20am today, Death apprently was caused by a heart attack. Dr. Sheppard resided at 1621 N. Elm.Dr. Sheppard came to Denton from Sulpher Springs, in 1918. He practiced in Little Elm until about 10 years ago, when he moved his office here.
He studied medicine in Fort Worth and Tulane University.

Survivors include his wife and four daughters, Mrs. William G. Woods, of Denton. Mrs James N. Darrow of Houston, Mrs. Ralph Moore of Memphis, Tenn., and Mrs. H. B. Smoot of Fort Worth; a sister and two grandchildren: Marilyn and Meredith Moore of Memphis, Tenn. Funeral arrangements are being made at Jack Schmitz and Son funeral home.

Dr. Sheppard Services Held:

Funeral services for Dr. M. C. Sheppard, longtime Denton County doctor, were held today at 10am in the First Methodist Church with Rev. Phillip Walker officiating. Pallbearers were J. E. McCrary, Floyd Brooks, Rogers Tell, C. E. Miller, L. L. Miller, Bert Fowler. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Denton County Medical Society, Jack Woodward, Walter B. McClurkan and R. W. (Bill) Bass of the First State Bank. Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Park under the direction of Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home. Dr. Sheppard died in his office Monday. He had practiced medicine in Denton County since 1918.
