I have placed my 4th g-grandfather & mother in the most likely cemetery they would have been buried in. It is not known, at this time, where they are buried. So as to be able to reference their children and allow many more people searching for information on James Akin & Judith (Baker) Akin to view this site, perhaps someone may have knowledge as to where they are.

In addition, I am still attempting to locate burial locations of these children.

3. Vienna (Akin) Cary

Reference to Y-DNA & NGS Testing:

I am heavily involved in Y-DNA testing for the AKIN surname along with several other AKIN members from legs of this family. To prove your lineage to this family, it is likely you should prove an association to a subclade of the Z36747 Haplogroup (FGC37070, Y16486, Y16490, & BY4583) in NGS (Next Generation Sequencing) such as the Big Y-700 at Family Tree DNA.

To become involved and to test your lineage, you should consider taking a Y-DNA111 marker test or the Big Y-700 NGS Test (Note: The Big Y-700 includes the Y-DNA111 Test). These tests do require a "male" Akin to perform this test, but it could be your father, brother, or cousin. If enough of the Akin males who think they are attached to this family test, we may be able to distinguish between the various legs of the family by the SNP's which can be analyzed from the Big Y NGS Test.
