"Mrs. Mindy Darby Harris, of Hattiesburg, passed away Saturday, July 6, after a long battle with brain cancer. She was 42 years old. Before her illness, Mindy was employed for many years as a printing clerk at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. She will be most remembered for her love of family, coworkers, music, and good food. She was a graduate of South Natchez High School, Copiah- Lincoln Community College, and Mississippi State University. Mindy is survived by her husband, Bill Harris of Hattiesburg, parents, Neil and Anna Darby of Columbia, sisters, Dawn (Peter) Dias of Columbia, Terri (Darren) Moore of Arlington, Texas, and Jessica (Nick) Kirkpatrick of Petal. Other survivors include nieces and nephews, R.J. and Matthew Dias of Columbia; Jacob, Stella, and Alex Moore of Arlington, Texas, Jett and Cash Kirkpatrick of Petal, and Ruddie Harris of Northville, Michigan. Mindy is also survived by her mother and father-in-law, Nell and Kim Harris of Gulf Shores, Alabama, brothersin- law T.K. Harris of Miami, Florida and Marion Harris of Northville, Michigan, best friend Dianne Raborn, and her beloved pet,Lobo. Visitationwill be held Wednesday, July 10, 2013, from 11:30-1:15 with a memorial service beginning at1:30 at Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery followed by fellowship at Hardy Street Baptist Church Activities Center. Officiating the service will be Dr. Bryant Barnes, Rev. Wayne Ward, and Rev. Tom Thurman, all of First Baptist Church, Columbia, with music presented by Mr. Chris Turnage. Pallbearers are Gary Gordon, Peter Dias, Jr., R.J. Dias, Tony Miller, Nick Kirkpatrick and Hank Sossaman. Honorary pallbearers are Larry Pendland, Bill Cranford, Don Murphy, Jessy Bass, and Tre Ruhl. Memorials may be mailed to the Dubard School for Language Disorders; 118 College Drive #5104; Hattiesburg, MS 39406-5104."
