Barton, NY: Theodore W. "Sparky" Bishop, 75, passed away on Sunday July 7, 2013 at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, NY. He was born at home in Barton on February 27, 1938, the son of the late Theodore and Helen (Hoover) Bishop. He was predeceased by his daughter, Patricia Bishop; his sister, Nancy Kassapian; and brother, John Bishop. Ted is survived by his wife, Nancy Bishop; his children, Ken and Bonnie Bishop, Lori Bishop and her companion Frank Chapman, Jr.; his four step-children, Ronald, Steve and Sheila Jackson and Bill Ross; twenty-five grandchildren and great grandchildren; his sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Dale Nance, Lakeland, FL; his brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Teri Bishop; brother-in-law, Boppo Kassapian; sister-in-law, Tina Bishop; many nieces, nephews, cousins; and his faithful companion, Pugsley. Ted was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also a talented woodworker who made lawn ornaments, furniture and many other things. Ted was truly a "jack of all trades." A Funeral Service will be held at Richards Funeral Home, Rte. 17c West, Owego, NY on Thursday July 11, 2013 at 11:00am with Pastor Gary Smith from the Tioga Center Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Tioga Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to visit at Richards Funeral home on Thursday from 10:00AM until the time of service at 11:00AM.
