She departed this life on Sunday, April 19, 2009, at 8:25 pm, after a long fought battle, Myra went home to join her husband Cary of 48 years and daughters Brenda and Deidra. She was born on June 4, 1928, in Starksville, MS, to Brister and Katie Elliott. She leaves to mourn her children, Tyrone, Cary (Lisa), Juanzetta, Bridgette (caregiver), Monta, Anthony; grandchildren, Morris, Scratch, Myra, Elanna, Kyra, Tyvon, Kolin, Madison; great-grandchild, Kolin; siblings, Hortense Elliott, Sallie Mae & Gearring, Adelaide Elliott, Henrene Averitt, Wilda Richards; in-laws, Ruth Elliott, Paul Henry, Savannah Beasley of Live Oak, FL, Alvera Henry, and Eleanor Mitchell of Jacksonville, FL. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Geneva Riddles, Walter Elliott, Ozzie Elliott, LC Elliott, Tommy Elliott, Julia Bell Williamson, Brister Elliott, Jr.; and a host of relatives. Viewing will be on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at Ridgelawn Funeral Home, 4201 W. Ridge Road, Gary, Indiana from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Family hour will be 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at Ridgelawn on Friday, April 24, 2009, at 11:30 a.m. The family would like to thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers.
