Joseph A. Otteni, 21 of Albion, Pa. died from injuries received in a car accident on July 13, 2005. He was born in Erie on Dec. 27, 1983 the son of Sidney Otteni, Edinboro and Marcy Thomas Shaffer, Albion.

He was a member of St. Lawrence Church, Albion. He was a graduate of Northwestern High School Class 2002. He was employed as a forman by Speedy K, Albion. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and had served in Iraq. He enjoyed working on four wheel drive trucks, hunting and fishing. He also was active in karate.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Loretta Kay Otteni. Besides his parents he is survived by a sister, Stephanie Otteni, Albion; paternal grandparents, Richard and Wendy Otteni, Albion; maternal grandparents, Dennis and Connie Lance, Cranesville; George and Pat Thomas, West Springfield; his step father, Joel Shaffer; step mother, Tina Skinkis; a step sister, Amanda Skinkis, Edinboro; three step brothers, Michael Johnson of Florida; Matt Johnson, North East and Kyle Skinkis, Edinboro. Further survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Friends may call at Steff Funeral Home, Albion on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and may attend prayer services there on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Lawrence Church, Albion.
