T. M. Woods, Veteran of Civil War, Dies
Thomas M. Woods, 80, native of Kentucky and veteran of the Civil War died last night at his home 1017 M Street following a brief illness. Mr. Woods has resided in Bakersfield about two years. He is survived by his widow Mrs. Sarah Woods; two sons Robert L and J. M. Woods and a daughter, Mrs. J. H. Jewel all of Bakersfield. He also is survived by 7 other children living in eastern states; 21 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Woods was a member of the Grand Army of the Republic. The body is at Payne and Son Mortuary pending funeral arrangements.

Funeral is Set for Civil War Veteran
Funeral services for Thomas W. Woods, 80-year-old Civil War veteran who died Sunday night at his home 117 N street will be conducted at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at Payne and Son chapel by the Spanish-American War Veterans. Interment will be in Union Cemetery.
Mr. Woods is survived by his widow Mrs. Sarah Woods; two sons Robert L and J. M. Woods; and a daughter, Mrs. J. H. Jewel all of Bakersfield. Mr. Woods was a member of the Grand Army of the Republic.
