She married Henry Scholten on October 7, 1858 in Lincoln County, Missouri. They had three children; Margaret Rosina, John William (died in infancy), and Mary Jane (died at age 3, a few months after her mother's death).
From family notes: Delilah was a school teacher and homemaker. She was artistically inclined. As a young girl at home, she designed and stitched linings for all the coats made for members of the family.
After her marriage to Henry, she helped in the saddlery business by drawing designs used in stitching the special saddles.
During the Cival War she baked bread and pies to serve the Union soldiers on guard duty in and around Springfield, Missouri.
While on a visit to her parents in Pleasant Hill, Illinois, she was stricken with the fatal illness of lockjaw at the early age of 38.
