Mary Ann Wright married Edwin C. Abbott on Sept. 8, 1833 in Fountain Co., IN. Soon after the birth of their youngest child, in 1856, they moved to Fayette Co., IA. They had a farm 6 miles north of Fairbank, Oran Twp., Fayette Co., IA. Mr. Abbott's home was used for the originational meeting for the formation of Oran Twp. Edwin C. Abbott died two weeks later, and was buried on the farm. The land next to this farm belonged to Mary's brother, Andrew Jackson Wright. She sold her farm and moved in 1873.
