Wife of Andrew Stewart, and former owner of Oak Alley Plantation. They were married in 1906. Descended from the Polks and Nealys of Tennessee on her mother's side, and Armstrongs and Readys of Tennessee on her father's. Her father, Joseph B Armstrong, was the Ranger who captured John Wesley Hardin. Her mother was Mollie Durst. Before she died, she formed the Oak Alley Foundation, and the home and its twenty-five acres were left to the state of Louisiana.
