The son of the late Brownlow and Mary Jane Ashley, he was born April 2, 1889 in Casey County. He was married to Mary Baugh, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Ashley was a farmer and a member of the Bethelridge Methodist Church.
Survivors are the following children, Noble Ashley, Cincinnati, Virgil Ashley, Eubank, Mrs. Edna Ashley, Cincinnati, Mrs. Mable Barber, Kings Mountain, and Mrs. Bessie Smith, Eubank; two brothers, Ernest Ashley and Hartwell Ashley, both of Eubank; three sisters, Mrs. Ellen Higgins, Eubank, Mrs. Lizzie Young, Eubank, and Mrs. Janie Eldridge, Floyd Switch.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. in the Methodist Curch, of the Barnett Funeral Home with the Rev. A.F. Atwood officiating. Burial in the Eubank Cemetery.
