He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy G. Melsoni; sister, Mildred Johnson; and stepfather, Ghuido Melsoni. He is survived by his wife, Gaynell Sims; daughter, Susan Sims; sisters, Barbara Cook and Dean (Charles) Calfee; brothers, Charles (Phyllis) Melsoni, and Franklin (Sue) Melsoni.
