George P. Agar, a retired sugar merchant and one of the founders of the New Orleans Sugar Exchange and the United States Savings Bank, in both of which institutions he had been a director, is dead at his home here. Mr Agar who was 58 years of age, was born in this city and a graduate of Georgetown University. He had a partnership with his father until impaired health compelled him to retire in 1902. Mr. Agar owned and sailed the racing cabin sloop Nepenhe, designed and built by the Herreshoffs.

Mr. William Agar the distinguished father of the Mr. George Agar, survives his son and is hale and hearty at age of eighty or more. The Impressive funeral services were held at the Jesuits' Church an Tuesday morning, April 1, the great church being filled with sympathizing relatives and friends of the deceased.
