Jo Ann Hebert Marshall, of Cloquet, passed away December 2nd, 2012 at the age of 90.

Born an only child, Jo Ann spent so much time with her Matteson cousins who lived several houses down from her that whenever anyone inquired whether she had siblings, she replied, "Sure! I have lots of them!" Throughout her lifetime, Jo Ann remained close with her extended family and always delighted in visiting with them.

Jo Ann was an accomplished knitter, creating many beautiful sweaters for her children and grandchildren. She especially enjoyed knitting matching Christmas sweaters for all four grandchildren each year which they treasure. In addition to knitting and doting on her grandchildren, she loved Shirley Temple, dolls, and china, having several collections of tea cups.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 yrs., Lester Marshall, Jr. who passed away December 5th, 2005.

Jo Ann is survived by her daughters: Charlee Ann (George) Parsons, and Beth Dyson; grandchildren: Kathleen (Adam) Knoblauch, Sarah (James) Francis , Bridget (Ryan) Burton, and Evan (Sarah) Dyson; and two great grandchildren.

Those left to mourn take comfort in knowing that Jo Ann will now be reunited with her loving husband, Lester. They were married for 62 years and their life together is a true love story. While working for the FBI in the fingerprinting department in Washington D.C., Jo Ann and Lester were set up on a blind date by Jo Ann's aunt and Lester's father. Lester was smitten from the start, proposing to Jo Ann only six weeks after their first date. They were married on October 9th, 1943 and made Cloquet their home.

Interment of Jo Ann and Lester was in Old Calvary Cemetery in Cloquet.
