James William Jones 78 of Streetsboro went home to be with the Lord Saturday, July 6, 2013.

He was born July 16, 1934 in Meadville, PA to the late Jack and Mildred (Kepler) Jones.

James was a devoted follower of Christ. An amazing husband, father, and grandfather.

He was a pastor and friend to all he met. He shared with all of us many things about life and how to grow closer to Jesus. He worked for Kent State University as a budget director for 35 years. He became an ordained Minister in 1975.

Survivdors include his loving wife of 56 years, JoAnn Jones, daughters, Julie Medhurst of Aurora, Jeanette (Ed) Heaver of Streetsboro, 3 grandchildren, Angela (Joshua) Halder, Daniel Medhurst, and Kelly (Chad) Van Dusen.

Besides his parents he was preceded by 2 grandchildren, Jacob Medhurst, Matt Heaver, son-in-law, Gary Medhurst, and his sister, Jacqueline McKinley.

Calling hours will be held from 5 -8 PM Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Streetsboro Chapel.

The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 10, 2013 with Rev. Walter Stewart and Rev. Mark Stewart officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery Streetsboro.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to New Life Assembly Church, 911 Orchard Ave, Aurora Ohio 44202 for Tanzania Water Wells Project.
