Bentley was probably conceived in what is now Todd, Ky., born as per records in Louisa, Va. His middle name is his mothers maiden name. A custom of theirs. Family gossip says the Hicks may have come from Scotland and another story links us with the May Flower. Bentley's mother's family is from Scotland. There was a Robert Hicks coming to Plymouth colony on the 1st ship after the May Flower and his wife on the next ship after that. The line ends with Bentley's father George Taylor Hicks
