Norma Lea Waugh was born Nov. 24, 1930 to Harry Lee Weeden and Gladys Willie Weeden.

She married James "Eldon" Waugh Aug. 11, 1950.

Norma graduated salutatorian from Washington High School in Washington, Okla., in 1948. She graduated from Oklahoma City University with a bachelor's of arts degree in art in 1968. She also was honored with the Martha Avey Art Award as the outstanding freshman art major in her class. She received a master's of arts in education from the University of Central Oklahoma in 1982.

During her teaching career Norma taught secondary education in the Oklahoma City Public Schools, and she spent the last 20 years tutoring children with learning challenges. She was a language therapist and maintained certification with the Academic Language Therapist Association (ALTA), she had been a member of the International Dyslexia Association since 1992.

Norma taught children's Sunday School, was co-leader of the Girls Auxiliary and the "Women On A Mission" organization.

A resident of Stillwater, OK., she died at the age of 79, Jan. 27, 2010.

She was survived by three children, Suzanne Irene Witt and husband Ron, Jerry Kent Waugh and wife Candace, and James Lee Waugh and wife Carrell.

The Funeral was Jan. 28, 2010, at First Baptist Church in Stillwater, OK.
