George C Pyle, 83, well known to many Alden people and an Iowa Pioneer and resident of Iowa Falls for 65 years, died at his home there last Monday, following an illness of several months. He was for 40 years employed in the office of Ellsworth & Jones and was regarded as one of the best abstract examiners in the state. He retired five years ago.

He was born at Clinton, Ohio, February 1, 1852. At the age of 6 he came to lee county, Iowa and in 1868 his parents moved to Iowa Falls. He married Miss Deborah Vick, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elias Vick, January 21, 1876 and three children were born of this union: Gracie, who died at the age of 2; Mrs. Warren Johnson, Iowa Falls, and Mrs. John L Sharpe, Chicago, who survive.

The mother died two years ago.

January 2, 1934, he married Miss Minnie Riley who survives him. A sister, Mrs. Sarah Ashby, Pasadena, California, also survives. There are four grandchildren.

The funeral was held yesterday afternoon from the Friends church, conducted by the pastor. Interment was made in Union cemetery.
