Singer, Actress. She was known as the Queen of Fado. She began her career in 1935 and became an important ambassador of Portuguese language. As a singer, she is remembered for her works "Busto os Asas Fechadas," "Meu Amor é Marinheiro," "Estranha Forma de Vida" and "Segredo." In cinema, she apperared in films such as "Capas Negras" (1947), "Fado, História de Uma Cantadeir" (1948), "Vendaval Maravilhoso" (1951), "Os Amantes do Teijo" (1955) and "Sangue Toureiro" (1955). She was cremated and buried in Cemiterio dos Prazeres, but later her remains was moved to Panteao Nacional, becoming the first woman with this honor.
