Private, Corporal, Sergeant & 1st Sergeant, Battery B, 4th US Artillery 22 Jun 1853 to 14 Aug 1863; 2nd Lieutenant, 4th US Artillery 10 Aug 1863; 1st Lieutenant 13 Oct 1865; Captain, 43rd US Infantry 28 Jul 1869; transferred to 1st US Infantry 8 Apr 1869; unassigned 7 Jun 1869; brevet 1st Lieutenant 18 Aug 1864 for gallant and meritorious service in the battle on the Weldon Railroad VA and Captain 29 Mar 1865 for gallant and meritorious service during the operations against Petersburg VA; died 13 Nov 1869.
