He was born September 2, 1904 in Ste. Genevieve County to the late John L. Barnes and Lucy Fry Barnes.
Mr. Barnes was a farmer for many years. During WORLD WAR II he served in the U.S. ARMY.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ada Stevens Barnes; one brother, Fred Barnes; five sisters, Reba, Estella, Katie, Hattie and Gertrude.
He is survived by one sister, Georgia Strickland of Farmington; one niece, two dear friends, Bill and Joanne Rauls; and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held today after 7:00 p.m. at the Cozean Funeral Home in Farmington. Funeral services will be held June 7 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cozean Memorial Chapel with the Rev. James Lacey officiating. Burial will be in the Doe Run Memorial Cemetery.
