DR. Parley Dickinson was born to Parley Dickinson and Clarissa Clarke in Haddam, Connecticut. His father died one year after his birth. He married Susannah Clark (Arnold) on 7 Aug 1836 in Cuyahoga County, Ohio. Graduated at the Western Reserve Medical College in 1844 and moved to Illinois, and finally settled in New London, Wisconsin. In 1872 he as appointed to the Medical Examiner's job by the US Pensions Bureau. He and his wife had four children: Alice (1839-1912), Clarence Earl (1842-1913), George P (1843-1942) and Nellie (1845-1940).
