Philip A. Fox, 71, for 30 years fire chief here, died at Exeter Hospital 10 Feb 1970 after a brief illness.
A native of Raymond, he was born Feb. 11, 1898, to Charles and Mabel (Dodge) Fox. He retired in 1969 as fire chief.
A graduate of Phillips Exeter Academy, he was an honorary member of the Rockingham County Fire Wardens' Association.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Margaret Thompson Fox; a daughter, Mrs. Rosmer Goodrich of Vernon, Conn., and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held 13 Feb with burial in Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill, Mass.
