Frederick was the son of Amos Turner and Amelia Huntington (Sill) Ashton. Like his father, Frederick was an Episcopalian priest. In 1940 he and Elizabeth were living in Christiana Hundred, New Castle County, Del. with son Thomas (18) and daughters Amelia (15), Elizabeth (14) and Margaret (11). All of the children were born in Delaware.
