John Botkin was the son of Mary (Young) Botkin and Lewis Garrett Botkin. He married Emma Florence Carrier on March 1, 1913 and had two sons, Paul Willis Botkin and John Louis Botkin. He was the grandfather of Richard L. Botkin. He was a lifelong farmer in Central Kentucky. He passed away in July, 1957 at the age of 70.
