Michelle Annette Edwards, 20, of Huntsville, stepped off a curb in Acapulco, Mexico, on Sunday morning, June 26, 2005, and into an even better paradise with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

In her short time on this earth, Michelle fought to be the best at everything she did. She excelled in all sports at Brownwood High School, graduating in 2003. She was actively involved in intramural sports in Huntsville. She had a passion for animals, the underprivileged, and victimized children in our world. She volunteered weekly at the animal shelter in Huntsville. She was classified as a junior at Sam Houston State University and was a criminal justice major in the new field of "victim studies." She was with a "study abroad" class with SHSU in Puebla, Mexico for a one-month Spanish class when she died during her last weekend excursion.

It was Michelle's dream to become a lawyer and one day work as a child advocate. She wanted to be totally bilingual in order to serve all people and cultures.

Michelle is survived by her parents, Kathy Edwards of Brownwood, and James and Theresa Edwards of Abilene; one sister, Christy Edwards; a half brother, Tyler Edwards, both of Brownwood; her maternal grandparents, Charles and Mary Love of Abilene; her paternal grandparents, Jessie and Ed Chappell of Abilene; numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and friends; and her honorary grandmother, Eula Tuttle (Nannie), of Brownwood. She is also survived by the love of her life, Chris Fox of Huntsville, and Cooper, her cat.
