Born Jan. 7, 1902, at Denholf, Russia [Dönhof, Balzer District, Saratov Province, Russia], he came to Greeley in 1913. He married Mabel Eckhardt Dec 23, 1924, at Greeley. He was employed by the Union Pacific Railroad for 21 years.
Survivors include his wife, Mabel; a son Richard Leroy of Greeley; five daughters, Mrs. Robert (Margaret) Keil of Russellville, Mo.; Mrs. Dan (Dorothy) Frasier of Fort Lupton; Mrs. Leland (Evelyn) Steinbrecher and Kathy Fendel, both of Greeley; and Mrs. LeRoy (Barbara) Baumgartner of Fort Morgan; three brothers, Jacob of Greeley and William and Sam, both of Tacoma, Wash.; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Hill of Tucoma and Mrs. Rosie Leffler of Ault; 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Serices will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Paul's Congregational Church of which he was a member. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Macy Allnut Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
