After a lingering illness of several years, Mrs. Anna Meiburg passed away at her home in Rock Rapids, Saturday morning, March 27, at the age of 74 years, two months, and 8 days, death being caused by hardening of the arteries.

Ann Margaret Meiburg, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Onnen, was born January 19, 1863, in Hanover, Germany. When 7 years old she came to America with her parents. For several years the family stayed at Sterling, IL where Mrs. Meiburg was confirmed in 1877. From Sterling they came west to Ida County, IA, where she was united in marriage to William Meiburg of Denison, IA. In 1893 they moved to Flandreau, SD, where they farmed for 11 years, when they returned to Iowas and settled on a farm near Alvord. In 1916 they retired from farm life, and moved to Rock Rapids. Here her husband preceded her in death 7 years ago. The last 5 years she was not so well. 2 years ago she was quite sick and not expected to live. It seemed that she had used up her entire strength in loving care of her husband.

She was a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran church while living at Rock Rapids, and also a faithful member of the Ladies Aid of this church. She took an active part in church work as long as her strength permitted her to do so.

She leaves to mourn, her son, Henry Meiburg, of near Alvord, and her daughter, Mrs. Minnie Kroeger, of Flandreau, SD, 15 grandchildren, one great grandchild, one sister, Mrs. Johanna Rohde of Rock Rapids, and other relatives and a large number of friends.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon at home and at Immanuel Lutheran church and were in charge of Rev. E.H. Mueller. A male quartet, composed of Lloyd Clasen, Loren Griesse, Arnold Olson, and Carl Borman with Mrs. E.H. Mueller at the piano, furnished music. Burial was made in the Alvord cemetery at the side of her husband. Six grandsons of the deceased were the pallbearers.
