August 21, 1969 - July 4, 2013

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 8, 2013, at 2:00 PM in Asbury United Methodist Church for David Womack, 43, who died on Thursday, July 4, 2013 at his residence due to complications from a struggle of over one year as a quadriplegic.

Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

Reverend Susan Ferguson, Associate Pastor of Asbury United Methodist Church in Lafayette, will conduct the funeral services.

Survivors include his parents, Doug and Anne Womack of Lafayette; his fiancée, Devaney Diamond of Lafayette; one brother, Roy D. Womack, Jr., his wife, Ann, and their two sons, Cole and Clay Womack; and maternal grandparents, Lucy and Clarence Noblin.

He was preceded in death by his brother who died at birth; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C.S. Womack; and his maternal grandfather, Percy Dow.

David had an affinity for life and travel. He loved learning about world and military history, particularly World War II. He was intrigued by other cultures and was able to experience various parts of the world traveling with the love of his life & fiancée, Devaney. The structure of airplanes and sailboats struck a mystique in him and he had aspired to eventually obtain his pilot's license. He always had a sincere respect for others and had a great love for animals, namely for his 3 dogs. He will always be remembered for his smile and great, loving heart.

For over twenty years, David worked with his father who considered David to be a most important partner in their consulting business. He will be sorely missed.

He was a graduate of Lafayette High School and received his bachelors degree from University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
Pallbearers will be Roy Womack, Brian Rush, Kevin Kelley, Lance Adamson, Shane Perron, Allen Daigle, Chris Perron, Ramin Qawami, and John Gurunlian.

The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN location on Sunday from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM followed by service on Monday at 2:00 P.M. No public visitation on Monday.
