Edith Iva Jenkins, 82, of Farmington, Iowa passed away at 8:38 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at her daughter's home in Keosauqua, Iowa.
Born June 13, 1931 in Henry County, Iowa the daughter of Fredrich and Minnie (Rudy) Dietsch. On December 5, 1946 she married Myron Barnes. Later on June 22, 1963 she married Ottis E. Jenkins, he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son Cecil (Peggy) Barnes of Fort Madison, Iowa, two daughters Cheryl (Sonny) Hootman of Farmington, Iowa and Colleen (Steve) Treece of Keosauqua, Iowa, one sister Margaret Parker of Burlington, Iowa. Edith's friend John Jones, nine grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ottis, and two brothers Donald and Paul.
Edith was a lifetime member of the Bonaparte Baptist Church. She worked for years as a CNA, medical aide and restorative therapist. She enjoyed flower gardening, reading and her family
Friends may call and meet with the family from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Monday, July 8, 2013 at the Bonaparte Baptist Church in Bonaparte, Iowa. A Memorial Service will be held that evening at 6:30 p.m. at the Bonaparte Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Caston officiating. Burial will be at the Bonaparte Cemetery.
A memorial has been established in her memory.
