Julie Beth Garton Gilbert, 32, died July 21, 2000 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

She was born Aug. 29, 1967 in Pontiac, Michigan. She graduated from Wanalua High School in Hawaii, and later received a degree in office administration. She also served a Spanish-speaking mission in California for the LDS Church.

She married Preston Kit Gilbert on Aug. 8, 1998 in Salt Lake City. Julie was the love of Preston's life-she meant everything to him. She is survived by her husband, Preston; her father, Gordon Garland Garton, SR.; and siblings, Diane, Gordon Jr.; Brenda Bautista, Todd, and Timothy. Her mother, Emma Diane Garton preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 27th, at 12 p.m. at the Jefferson Ward Chapel, 1883 South West Temple, with a viewing one hour prior to services
