Patsy Rae Brown Griffin, 91, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2013. Service: 11:30 a.m. Monday in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Greenwood Funeral Home. Patsy was born March 24, 1922, in Richland Springs to Hollie and Allie Brown. She graduated from Richland Springs High School in 1939 and from John Tarleton College in 1941. She worked for insurance adjusters in Abilene and San Angelo. Patsy married Joel Brice Griffin Jr. in San Angelo on Feb. 1, 1947. They moved to Midwest City, Okla., where they both worked at Tinker Air Force Base. In 1949 they transferred to Fort Worth. She was a charter member of River Oaks Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) Christian Women's Fellowship, and River Oaks Lady Lions. Patsy was preceded in death by her husband, Joel Griffin Jr.; parents, Hollie and Allie Brown; brother, Leon Brown; and nephew, Randall Brown. Survivors: Daughters, Debra Tripp and husband, Sonny, of Piedmont, S.C., and Melissa West and husband, Robert, of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Holly Boatwright and husband, Ashley, Emily Rapp and husband, Bryce, Thomas Tripp and wife, Kristin, and Amy Tindel; great-grandchildren, Seth and Lily Boatwright and Caroline Rapp.
