William George Dunn Jr. age 55 passed away July 5, 2013, in New Haven, Indiana after being struck by a car while riding his motorcycle on Highway 930. Mr. Dunn, known by family, neighbors and friends as Bill, was born in Newburgh, Orange County, New York to William George & Lenore J (Jacobowitz) Dunn Sr. in 1958.
Bill served his country in the Army and after sustaining a severe back injury during his tour of duty, retired from the military. Bill married Nancy Ann Lothamer while he was stationed in El Paso, Texas on April 5, 1985. To this union was born their son. Bill and Nancy later divorced, but remained friends until Bill's death.
Bill is survived by his son, his father William George Dunn Sr., his ex-wife/friend Nancy and a niece. He was preceeded in death by his mother Lenore J (Jacobowitz) Dunn, his brother Brian Dunn and his grandson Skylar Dunn.
William George Dunn (Bill) Jr. was a hero not only to his country, but a hero to my family for saving the lives of my husband, son and daughter due to his knowledge and ability to properly load cargo onto moving trucks. His talent is what kept the moving truck we rented from tipping over when my husband swerved to miss a collision head on with a car the night we moved. We will forever be indebted to Bill for that night and will miss him dearly.
