SALISBURY—Virginia Ingram Albert, 83, passed away at the home of her nephew and niece Bruce and Laura Patrick of Harrington on Monday, July 1, 2013, after a long, yet courageous battle with multiple health issues which lasted over six months.
Born in Vanover, Ky., Ginny was the daughter of the late Carl Roy Ingram of Cleveland, and the late Hazel Midkiff Ingram Rowe of Seaford, Del. A former employee of DuPont in Seaford; Latex in Dover, Del.; Andy Koenig Real Estate in Dover, and Anderson Stokes Real Estate in Rehoboth Beach, and Ocean City, Ginny completed numerous courses in business, finance, and real estate at Goldey-Beacom in Wilmington, Del., and was known to all as a congenial, good-hearted, jovial red-head.
As a long-time resident of Salisbury, Virginia was very active in her church, Asbury United Methodist, where she continually made creative contributions such as annually decorating the Holy Cross for Easter, making crismons for the Christmas tree, and volunteering for the altar guild.
A familiar face at the Ward Museum and at the Junior Board [both in Dover and Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, Ginny loved volunteerism almost as much as she loved her family and friends. A devoted friend to all who knew her, Ginny loved to cross-stitch, cook, bird-watch, travel, arrange flowers, make crafts, watch Westerns, tell jokes, sew, read, and, most of all, play with and care for her beloved "adopted" grandchildren: Amber Patrick (15), Ryan Patrick (13), and Morgan Earls (7). She will be dearly missed by her two nieces who were more like daughters to her, Laura Fretterd Patrick of Harrington, Del., her primary caregiver, and Linda Fretterd Earls of Greensboro, Md. She is survived by her devoted sister Ida Marroni of Odessa, Del.; one half-brother James Rowe of Laurel and many loving nieces and nephews throughout Delaware. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Russell Albert of Salisbury; her daughter Cynthia Albert of Brunswick, Ga.; her sister Ellen Ingram Fretterd of Federalsburg; and her brother Roy C. Ingram of Seaford.
Funeral services will be held at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 100 S. Fifth Avenue in Denton, Md. on Monday at 11 a.m. Friends and family may call at the church an hour before the service. The Rev. Dr. Robert Harris will officiate. Interment will be at the Bloomery Cemetery in Federalsburg. Moore's Funeral Home of Denton will coordinate all services. Lunch will be served at the Fellowship Hall of St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Denton following the services.
