Roy (Ray) S. Berrum, 65, 208 S. Culver Street, retired 300 Line conductor, died suddenly Monday night at 9:30 o'clock at the Hotel Northern where he was attending a meeting.
Friends may call at the Mason-Herzog-Weber Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Wednesday until the time of the funeral, which will be published later.
Mr. Berrum was born in September 6, 1892, in Minneapolis, the son of Karl and Mina Hanson Berrum. He was employed as a conductor on the 500 Line Railroad from 1913 to the time of his retirement on December 2, 1957. His marriage to Miss Mary G. Korb of Boyd, took place on August 21, 1923 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Boyd, with Father Nau officiating. They lived in Minneapolis before moving to Rib Lake, coming to Chippewa Falls in 1930.
Mr. Berrum was a member of Notre Dame Church , the Holy Name Society, Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen, Elk Lodge 1326, American Legion, and Disabled American Veterans.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, Richard, Chippewa Falls; and Homer, Livingston, Mont.; one daughter, Mrs. Walter (Mary Ann) Remer, Delano, Minn.; four brothers, Melvin and Herman of Winona, Minn.; Hardy of Crosby, Minn., and Clarence of Chicago; one sister, Mrs. LaVern (Ruth) McMurtrie of El Paso, Texas; and one grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Dorothy on October 5, 1944, and Mary Catherine on February, 1935.
