Hale Odell Hass died on July 4, 2013 at the Kansas City Hospice Center. He was 88 years old. He was born on February 3, 1925 in Allendale, Mo to Wayne Hass and Lela Harmon Hass. He spent his early life, north of Allendale, working on the family farm. After returning from WWII where he trained as an airplane mechanic, he returned to the family farming enterprise. In 1949, he married Ernestine Findley and they had 3 children. In 1956, the family moved to Kansas City where Hale worked for KC Bolt Nut and Screw Co for many years. He then joined Issco as a co-owner until he retired. Hale met Mary Sharrow Lowrence and they were married on March 9, 1973. Mary's 3 children were welcomed into the family. Hale and Mary were members of the KC AirStream Club and traveled extensively in the United States, Mexico and Canada. Hale is survived by his wife, Mary; children, Rick (Karen) Hass of Kansas City, Ron (Kathy) Hass of Kansas City and Sherri Lewis of San Diego; step children Mark (Susie) Lowrance of Garden City, Ks and Janet Lowrance of Garden City KS; brother, Don (Pal) Hass of Pittsfield IL; sisters Betty (Bob) Yeater of Kansas City, Helen (Charles) Smith of Nixa, Mo, Mary Ellen (Don) Boll of Aurora, Mo.; grandchildren, Richard Hass of Kansas City, Tina Griffin of Kansas City, Sara Hass of Ashland, Mo and Christina (Nate) Rice of Skidmore, Mo.; and 4 great grandchildren He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, William ‘Bill' Hass; one sister, Coral Hass Davis; stepdaughter, Sherry Grahl; grandson, Rob Lowrance; and nephews Charles Davis and Stephen Hass. Family viewing was held at Cashatt Family Funerals in Platte Woods, Mo on July 6, 2013 at 5:00 pm.
